The Berettyóújfalu District Prosecutor’s Office brought charges of coercion and other crimes against the man who got into someone’s car with a stolen angle grinder and then forced the man to take him to Komádi.
According to the indictment, on May 7, 2022, around noon, the man was drunk in Körszégapáti and went to his old acquaintance, the victim, to ask him for a loan. He entered the yard through the open gate and noticed that no one was home. The man then looked around the open workshop and stole items worth HUF 80,000.
After that, he set off on foot in the direction of Körösszakál, at which point the other victim stopped next to him on the road and picked him up in his car. During the trip, the defendant told him that he had a battery-powered device that he had stolen in Körszégapáti. The victim became indignant at this, stopped, and asked the man to get out. The perpetrator got angry at this and called on the victim to take him to Komádi because if he didn’t, he would start the flex and hit him in the head. The victim was very scared and drove off with the vehicle. After a short time, the accused became more and more irritated, started the object, and operated it for a few seconds to give momentum to his earlier threat and told the victim to go faster. The victim took the accused to Komádi, where the man sold the angle grinder to an unknown person for HUF 20,000.
The perpetrator caused HUF 80,000 damage to the owner of the technical article, which was not reimbursed.
The Berettyóújfalu District Prosecutor’s Office brought charges against the defendant, who admitted to committing the crime, for the crime of coercion and the crime of petty theft at the Berettyóújfalu District Court.
In the indictment for issuing a criminal sentence, the district prosecutor’s office proposed that the district court, based on the content of the documents, sentence the defendant to a suspended prison sentence without conducting a trial, and that the civil rights claim presented by the victim during the investigation should be judged on its merits and granted.
