As expected, Serbian coach Srdjan Blagojevic became the head coach of Debrecen VSC.
According to Wednesday’s report on the club’s website, the 49-year-old coach previously managed the Kazakh FC Astana and Kaspij Aktau, as well as the Serbian FK Indija. He left Astana last Tuesday, handed over the team to his successor in second place in the league table, and led it to the semi-finals of the cup.
Blagojevic started working at DVSC on Wednesday, and he and his assistants started preparing their new team for the championship against Budapest Honvéd, which will be held next Saturday.
After eight rounds, the players from Debrecen are in ninth place in the table. The Portuguese Joao Janeiro was sacked at the end of August, and Tibor Dombi managed the team as head coach in the two league meetings played since then and in the Hungarian Cup.
