A significant cooling will arrive on Wednesday, and then the weather will soften again almost to spring – according to meteorologist László Molnár, an employee of Kiderül.hu.
On Monday and Tuesday, we will still have the undisturbed sunshine and mild weather we have experienced, but on Wednesday, thanks to a cold front coming from the north, the tide will turn. Most of the cold blows east of us towards the south, but even the “edge” brings a significant cooling of 5-7 degrees. When the front passes through on Wednesday, the wind will pick up, the cloud formation will be stronger, but the maximum temperature will still remain in the range of 14-20 degrees. On Thursday, we can already feel autumn, and by dawn on Friday in most of the country – 70-80 percent – the temperature will drop below freezing, typically only the western counties and the inner areas of the cities will be left out.
It is ground frost, with temperatures around -2 and 0 degrees, but it can be -3, -4 degrees in frosty places. The daytime highs will drop to around 9-14, 8-14 degrees from Thursday, but precipitation (rain showers, mostly thunderstorms) is likely only in the Northern Central Mountains, Nyírség and Hajdú-Bihar county at most. According to Agronaptár.hu’s long-term forecast, it will start to warm up again on Sunday, with temperatures around 20 degrees returning. The difference compared to the current one is that this warmer period – at least the beginning – seems to be more variable, i.e. there may be rains, but their amount is still uncertain.
