In ATV’s report, the manager of one of the Debrecen services reported that many people are interested and even shocked by the exorbitant prices. “Many people are surprised, because we can only quote very high prices, right? Tires for a low-end car also cost nearly one hundred thousand forints. And when they hear this, what do they say? Anyone who wants to drive a car will buy it – said István Czirják, managing director of Cívis Kft. Here, winter tires have become more expensive by 35-40 percent in one year, and service fees have increased by 10-15 percent. The drastic price increase can be attributed to the weak forint and the increase in energy prices. In a service station in Pécs, compared to the 15 percent increase in Debrecen, they were forced to increase the prices even more.
Attila Gulyás, the service manager of Autócity Kft., spoke about the fact that their hourly rates were raised for the second time this year. “Now in September, we had to raise 20 percent compared to 20 percent at the beginning of the year, so our hourly rates increased by forty percent overall.” Experts say that more and more people are trying to find a temporary solution. Many people look for four-season tires in order to save money, but they do not recommend this to anyone in the service centers. It is also worth having the replacement done as soon as possible, because this way you can avoid queuing when the cold comes.
