The experiences and challenges of special education technology so far were presented to specialists in the field at a professional conference organized at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Debrecen. The participants were also able to get to know UD’s new Skill lab, where students can work on lifelike puppets using modern tools, the institution’s announcement reads.
It was said at the 1st Nyíregyháza Health Simulation Conference that thanks to the Skill-lab, health students studying in the educational environment available at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Debrecen can solve clinical situations, situations, and practical tasks with the help of simulators, modern educational tools, and life-like puppets, thus making them as realistic as possible. in an environment and in a modern way, they can learn individual practical skills.
Our students can prepare using tools that allow them to acquire a higher level of practical knowledge than ever before. The new lab provides an excellent opportunity to face the challenges experienced during professional work already during their studies and learn about the solution options through simulations. The goal is for students to be able to use the available tools as effectively as possible, thus improving their practical skills. Attila Szűcs, the medical director of the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Hospitals and Teaching Hospital, said that experiences are constantly being expanded through the use of laboratories, and such events are necessary to systematize them. The number of Skill labs in the region is constantly expanding, and the technical conditions necessary for simulation education are already given to the faculty, now the maintenance phase can follow, during which the necessary program must be developed and the educational methodology assigned to it. The medical director noted that the tools available in the laboratories are also needed in the field of graduate, postgraduate and professional training.
