Magyar Posta is closing a number of its units and implementing collective downsizing.
It was written that the operation of 366 post offices in 210 settlements will be suspended and 300 employees will be sent away.
According to the announcement of Magyar Posta Zrt., in the 101 settlements where there are several service points, the remaining post offices will receive customers with increased capacity and more customer service desks. In the 109 settlements where there is no other open post office, the services will be available using the already well-proven mobile post office.
Magyar Posta emphasized that the 740 employees affected will not lose their jobs, all of them will be transferred to other post offices. The change does not affect the home delivery of postal items either.
The company continuously ensures that customers are properly informed, and the relevant post offices will be available to customers until November 11, they said.
