Debrecen wants to help people living in panel houses, so this year the city will restart the panel program for flats with a total of HUF 500 million – it was revealed at the press conference of Debrecen’s deputy mayor responsible for city management and environmental protection tasks on Thursday.
Based on a general assembly initiative, this year the city will restart the panel program using a total of HUF 500 million. From this amount, which the residential communities of the panel houses will be able to apply for, it will be possible to carry out thermal insulation, replacement of windows and doors, and renovation of elevators.
Through the renovation, for example, in the case of an 87-apartment, 10-story panel building, energy consumption can be reduced by 435 megawatt hours per year, and carbon dioxide emissions by 94 tons per year. The application conditions will be developed after the adoption of this year’s budget. Ákos Balázs encouraged the residential communities to apply, reads the municipality’s report.
