The traffic schedule of MÁV-Volán group services will change on Easter, the Communications Directorate of MÁV Zrt. informed MTI on Wednesday.
It was written that the MÁV-START services on April 6, the first day of the spring break, will be on the Friday schedule, on the 7th on Saturday, on the 8th and 9th, on the holiday schedule, on the 10th, on Sunday, and on the 11th already on the working day schedule.
They added that the passenger traffic may increase significantly, so it is worth buying your tickets in advance as soon as possible, or using the machines or buying tickets online.
Depending on the advance purchase of seat tickets, there will be one or two more cars connected to the morning and afternoon InterCity trains this year. This affects the Nyírség, Tokaj, Tópart, Balaton, Napfény IC services and one express train running on the Budapest-Tapolca line.
Those under the age of 26 who are no longer studying can use the 33 percent weekend discount from 10 a.m. on April 6 until midnight on April 10.
The timetable of the Volánbusz services will also change during the spring break and the Easter holidays. Wednesday, April 5th is the working day and the last school day of the week, April 6th is the last working day of the week without school holidays, April 7th is the public holiday, 8th is the public holiday, Easter Sunday is the public holiday on the 9th, 10- buses depart according to the valid schedule on the working day preceding the first non-school working day of the week.
According to the information, on April 11th there will be a schedule corresponding to the first school holiday of the week, while on the 12th there will be a schedule corresponding to the working day and the first school day of the week.
In some settlements, local services may operate differently from the general traffic schedule. Further details, as well as changes to the transport of flights affecting stores, are available on the Volánbusz website.
According to the announcement, on April 6, the HÉV of H5 and HÉV will be on Friday during the school break according to the valid schedule; HÉV H6, H8 and H9 run according to the schedule valid on working days.
On the HÉV lines, the holiday schedule will be in effect from 7 to 10, except for the HÉV line H7, which will run according to the Saturday schedule on April 8, the announcement reads.
