The United States is our friend and also our important ally – Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced on Kossuth radio Good morning, Hungary! show.
The prime minister called it important that “we are members of a common military defense alliance”, and that there is also a philosophical similarity between the two countries, “the basic beliefs are the same”. America is also a Christian country, and the economic relations “show the image of a success story”, he said.
He added: “Everything is given for us to have good and friendly relations”.
He noted that at the same time, America is not united, today it shows the image of a more divided country, and there are big differences in party politics.
He elaborated on this: America sends whoever it wants here as ambassador, “and we have to acknowledge that the American ambassador represents the opinion of the United States in Hungary”. However, “it is unusual for the American embassy to implement this representation of American opinion through street posters,” he said.
He said: “It’s like they’re out of rhythm” because “they’re rushing home. We sent them home.”
If there is a world war, then there will be a nuclear war – declared Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, warning of the danger of the escalation of the war in Ukraine.
Regarding the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, Viktor Orbán emphasized that the situation worsens every week and the risk of escalation increases. According to the latest news, the British want to deliver a shell containing depleted uranium to the Ukrainian front, and Russia is installing tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus, he added.
This is not an atomic bomb, but it brings us one step closer to the world of the nuclear device system – pointed out the prime minister.
The United States has not given up its plan to “squeeze” everyone into a war alliance, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán declared on Friday. At the same time, the Prime Minister emphasized: we would not allow them to force us into the war.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the map shows that the United States is a safer place, but this cannot be said about the Carpathian Basin. He said that the risk of world politics is different from Beregszász or Budapest than from America.
We rightly expect the United States to take note of Hungary’s special situation – emphasized the prime minister.
“That’s why we are on the side of peace, we want to stay there,” he said.
Inflation may decrease perceptibly in April, and it may moderate more decisively in May and June, Viktor Orbán said.
Inflation was 25.2 percent in March, food prices rose by 42.6 percent in Hungary in one year
At the same time, the Prime Minister stated that what has been done so far in order to reduce the price index is not enough to remove the price cap. There are some products, especially food, through which shops compete for customers, but the spectrum of these goods is still narrow, he said.
He put it this way: the government is waiting for the “vaccine” it administered to the economy against inflation to work. He added that the cabinet must continue to work on reducing inflation.
He added: in the dialogue with the left, he rather tries to find points of agreement.
Unity is always useful and a good thing, and if a country agrees on big things, we are all the stronger – he pointed out, adding: he regrets that the left is pro-war and is not in the Hungarian peace camp.
He went on to say that he also uses parliamentary opportunities to explain the government’s position and not try to push them down or insult them at all.
It strives to have some kind of bridge over which they can come to the pro-peace camp, which is why the governing parties submitted a parliamentary resolution in which they confirmed that Hungary does not want and will not participate in this war, and does not supply weapons.
At the same time, the Prime Minister calls on the international community to mobilize its energies for negotiations that lead to a ceasefire and peace instead of supporting the war.
The left did not walk over this bridge, it did not come over to the peace party, but hope dies last – said Viktor Orbán.
