The staff and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen donated hundreds of kilos of clothes and shoes to the needy living in the Kamilla Family Transitional Home in Debrecen to conclude the Easter clothing collection campaign.
The leaders of the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Debrecen asked the staff and students of the faculty in March that, if they could, join the faculty’s Easter clothes collection campaign. Bring in high-quality children’s and adult clothes and shoes that needy, disadvantaged families could still use. As a result of the call, hundreds of kilos of clothes were collected at the Faculty of Pharmacy for Easter.
On Tuesday, the residents of the 40-bed Kamilla Családok Átmeneti Otthona on Vécsey Street in Debrecen received the donation, which filled eight sacks and almost half a dozen bags. The institution of the Baptist Charity Service has been operating in the city since 2010.
Dóra Kósa, Ágota Pető and Ádám Haimhoffer, young researchers and teaching assistants of the Faculty of PharmacyDepartment of Pharmaceutical Technology, delivered the donation to the residents of the home.
– Since the Faculty of Pharmacy considers social responsibility to be important, in recent years we have organized several charity collections and programs for those in need. Last year, for example, we collected clothes, sweets and a health day in Haláp for the Children’s Association. And before Christmas, we delivered toys to children in state care living in the Reménysugár Home in Debrecen – explained Ádám Haimhoffer.
He added that the cooperation with the Transitional Home for Families on Vécsey Street in Debrecen will continue as planned, and the employees and students of the Faculty of Pharmacy want to collect donations for the residents there in the future.
