On the initiative of Ottó Herman, every year since 1906 we have held the day of birds and trees on May 10, which was intended to draw the attention of the community – originally mainly the youth – to these extremely valuable representatives of the living world and the importance of their protection – Dr. Sándor Gergely Nagy, executive director of the Debrecen Zoo.
As he writes, on the occasion of this famous green holiday, Zoo Debrecen is for the first time waiting for groups of children and families interested in reviving nature with thematic programs for a whole week between May 8 and 14.
On weekdays, the park welcomes pre-registered preschool and school groups at zooped@zoodebrecen.hu or phone +36 30 355 5370 at various times, to whom the world of birds and trees will be introduced to them through an interactive expert guide, and they will also be treated to a free tree sapling.
On Saturday and Sunday, as ready-to-do ornithologists, visitors can participate in researching the behavior of exotic feathered inhabitants, and in the framework of an interactive session, they can further expand their knowledge about them in the Warehouse of Knowledge.
All programs are free with the purchase of a ticket.
