Sándor Végh, who passed away a few days ago, visited the world of clouds for more than 50 years and was considered the leading figure of hot air ballooning in Debrecen. His family said goodbye to him with a hot air balloon ceremony.
Sándor Végh began his flying career as a fighter pilot student in 1971, trained in Szolnok. In 1980, he became the commander of the Nyíregyháza airport and then fell in love with kite flying and hot air ballooning. Six-time Hungarian champion, silver medalist of the European Championship, and the founding of the Debrecen Balloon Flying Club is attached to his name.
