Firefighters worked non-stop over the weekend in Hajdú-Bihar County

The storm that passed through on Friday night left a huge task for the county’s firefighters. Several alerts were received from the county’s settlements due to fallen trees blocking roads or broken tree branches.

From the early hours of the morning and during the morning, nearly twenty alarms were received from Debrecen. Because of broken tree branches, the firefighters of the county seat moved to Mester Street, where a ten-meter-high tree split in two. In Görgey Street, a fifteen-meter tree broke in two at the waist. In the morning, a ten-meter-high tree fell onto the road at the intersection of Panoráma út.

Also in the morning, the professional firefighters from Debrecen went to Vámospércsi út, where a twelve-meter-long tree branch fell on the railway tracks and obstructed railway traffic. Professional firefighters from Debrecen removed the branch with a chainsaw. Damaged trees provided work in Debrecen, among others, on Egyetem súgarút, Domokos Lajos utca, Acsádi út and Akadémia utca.

In Derecské, a tree fell on the fence of a property in Semmelweis Street, here the professional firefighters from Berettyóújfalu and the volunteer firefighters from Konyár removed the tree by hand. In the settlement, intervention was also necessary in Bem and Bajcsy Zsilinszky streets. In the latter place, an acacia tree fell on a building.

In Hajdúböszörmény, a five-meter tree branch fell on a car in Mester Street, the professional firefighters of Hajdúböszörmény removed the tree from the parked car with a chainsaw. In Komádi, a ten-meter elm tree split in two, and in Ebes, fire brigade intervention was needed in Kertész utca and Boruzs tanya.

In Hosszúpályi, on Alkotmány Street, the Létávértes municipal, Debrecen professional and Konyár volunteer firefighters marched, where a pine branch in the yard of a property was split fifteen meters high. The firefighters intervened with a motorized chainsaw – the Disaster Management Agency informed about the details.
