The Debrecen Police Department is conducting proceedings on suspicion of committing a misdemeanor by negligently causing a fatal road accident.
According to the investigation data, a man was driving his van on August 14, 2023 at around 5:20 a.m. in Debrecen, on Böszörményi út in the direction of Doberdó utca. The driver of the vehicle did not give way to a young woman who tried to cross a pedestrian crossing before Böszörményi út 148. The van hit the 19-year-old pedestrian, who suffered such serious injuries that she died on the spot.
