One person died and three were got in an accident on the M3 motorway in the Gyöngyös area on Sunday afternoon, the Heves Vármegyei Police Headquarters announced on the police.hu website.
Based on the latest information from the disaster management, seven cars were involved in the accident at the 71st kilometer of the highway towards Budapest, which caused the entire width of the affected section to be closed.
According to the Útinform website, the previously ten-kilometer congestion has later reduced to five kilometers.
During the on-site investigation, the police diverted the traffic at the Gyöngyös-Kelet exit, drivers could return to the highway at the Gyöngyös-Nyugat junction.
