Today’s weather has been calm and warm, however, storms will return on Monday, reports Időkép.
This afternoon, thunderstorms can appear in the west and northwest, but as a result of another low pressure formation, on Monday we have to prepare for more and more thunderstorms again.
The storms are coming from the south and southwest, including violent thunderstorms. These can be accompanied by downpours, even larger ice and wind gusts exceeding 70-80 km/h. There is also a risk of flash floods, especially in mountainous areas. The thunderstorms will not completely disappear until Monday night, and on Tuesday there might be rainfall in several places due to a cold front coming from the northwest.
According to the weather alert sent to MTI, stronger thunderstorms are to be expected on Monday in the counties of Baranya, Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád-Csanád and Tolna, and the wind and hail accompanying the thunderstorms pose a risk in addition to lightning. For this reason,
a second-degree (orange) warning was issued for the five counties, while a first-degree warning is in effect in the rest of the country due to thunderstorms.
Due to the risk of downpours, a second-level warning was issued for Monday in the counties of Győr-Moson-Sopron, Komárom-Esztergom and Veszprém; here, from intense showers and thunderstorms, precipitation exceeding 50 millimeters can fall in a short time. A first level warning is in effect for Monday in the counties of Baranya, Bács-Kiskun, Békés, Csongrád-Csanád, Fejér, Pest, Somogy, Tolna, Vas and Zala.
