The Air Hygiene Index system includes four categories: acceptable, objectionable, unhealthy, and dangerous. According to the National Public Health Center’s website, the latest reports show that the air quality in Debrecen has now reached a dangerous level.
The cause of poor air quality in cold weather is primarily traffic and waste burning. It is advisable to avoid ventilation and outdoor physical activities during such periods.
