Market Építő Zrt. and its subsidiaries have successfully completed a 400-hectare project in Debrecen, valued at over 367 million euros, involving land preparation and the construction of a complete infrastructure.
Since the spring of 2019, the company group has carried out the complete construction of four buildings within eight projects on behalf of the city of Debrecen and the BMW Group. Nearly two hundred managerial and specialist employees of the company group participated in the complex and multifaceted work, celebrating the successful completion of the investment with a grand event at the Market office in Debrecen on Wednesday evening.
Market Építő Zrt. handed over to its client the most complex and technologically demanding part of the Debrecen BMW plant: a 140,000 square meter production hall, the assembly plant, and the associated infrastructure, as well as three smaller facilities located on a total area of 9,000 square meters. In this project of paramount importance to the company group, in addition to the parent company, OKM Építőipari és Szolgáltató Kft., Vilati Szerelő Zrt., MRKT Padló Kft., MCM Beton Kft., TRAG-Plan & Engineering Services Kft., and Lean Tech Mérnökiroda Kft. also participated.
The eight projects implemented by the group members included the transformation of the land into a construction site, during which one and a half million cubic meters of earth were excavated, moved, and set with centimeter precision by the specialists. The construction of site facilities was also part of the work. However, the essential elements of the construction – and thus the greater professional challenge – were the construction of the Training Center, the fire and operations building, and the facility that controls the entire sprinkler system of the factory complex, as well as the completion of the assembly plant, which is the heart of production. In this 140,000 square meter building, in addition to the production area, there are also offices, logistics units, changing rooms, and spaces that ensure the operation of the mechanical and electrical systems, all of which were built by the Market Group. During the work, the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic posed particularly great difficulties for all participants, and the energy price changes, high inflation, and the increase in the price of building materials also significantly affected the multi-year project. Among other things, these challenging factors contributed to the fact that the completion of the project can be considered a success that is a worthy example of the company group’s professional dedication and perseverance.
