Annamária Szalai, head of Hungary’s media council has died aged 51 after a long illness, her office announced Friday.
She performed her work on an immaculate professional level until the last moment. The Hungarian Government is grateful for her dedicated work, which she carried out as a teacher, a Member of Parliament, a member of the National Radio and Television Commission (ORTT) and as President of the Media Council. Annamária Szalai spent all her life in the service of the Hungarian people. With her passing, Hungary has suffered a painful loss.
Media reports said Szalai worked from hospital up until the last moment.
