Russian Orthodox Church awarded János Kóbor

János Kóbor, singer of the famous Hungarian rock band Omega, was awarded by the Russian Orthodox Church.

The award, Cross of the Order of Grand Duke Michael Alexandrovich of Russia, was given to Kóbor by Sergey pope, who himself was a rock musician in the 1970s; since then he is a big fan of Omega. Leader of the Russian Orthodox Monastery said that Omega brought freedom to Russia in the 70s that helped to lead back people to faith and religion.

Omega gave a concert in Moscow on Thursday that was visited by almost 2000 people. The band played its most popular songs from the 1970s, such as “Lena”.
