Circular Ruins. The Walls of Lili Ország

The oeuvre of Lili Ország, with her peculiar private mythology, is unique in the 20th-century Hungarian fine arts. MODEM now ventures to introduce this lonely career of feminine and Jewish roots. The exhibition features works from various Hungarian public and private collections, spanning every important period of the artist. Thus, the visitors will gain a comprehensive insight into this outstanding and mysterious oeuvre that can rarely be seen in its entirety.

Still – the word may stand for deep silence, a static photograph, a picture frame, or may refer to the time up to and including the present moment. This word of rich significance stands as the title of an exhibition of internationally recognized, mostly European photographers and video artists in the second floor exhibition hall of MODEM, Debrecen.

Risk Factor. Intermedia 2.0

Exactly 20 years ago, in 1993, the Intermedia Program of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts started as an outcome of the academic students’ revolution of 1990. Through the works of former and current students, the exhibition introduces the various directions of artistic practices evolved over the history of the Intermedia Department.
