The latest movie of the Ukrainian film director Myroslav Slaboshpytskiy with the title of Tribe (2014) is a shocking drama about deaf children living in a boarding school where they are involved in robbery, organised crime and even prostitution.
The film won the Nespresso Grand Prize, the Gan Foundation Support for Distribution Award at the 2014 Cannes Film Festival and the France 4 Visionary Award too. It was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 87th Academy Awards.
The movie is entirely in Ukrainian sign language without subtitles.
