The Liszt Ferenc University of Music’s Liszt and Kodály museums have joined the Network of Houses and Museums of European Musicians, a new international network of memorial houses of musicians and composers.
The new federation was proposed by the Centre Europeen de Musique, and its founding deed was signed in France on Sunday. The initiative will cover some forty sites, including Beethoven shrines in Bonn, Vienna, and Baden, Brahms House in Baden-Baden, the Pablo Casals Foundation in Tarragona, the House Museum of Manuel de Falla, Mendelssohn House in Leipzig, the Sibelius House in Turku, the Bellini Collection in Florence, the Chopin Institute in Warsaw, and the Bizet Museum in Bougival.
Members of the new network will promote art events and organise seasons, facilitate exchange programmes for young musicians, and encourage cooperation with other areas of arts and science both inside and outside Europe, the university said in a statement.
