The prestigious international film festival, celebrating its 20th anniversary, will be held in Miskolc from September 6th to 14th this year.
CineFest is not only about showcasing the latest films but also welcoming star guests. One of this year’s standout guests is Patrick Duffy, best known to the audience as Bobby Ewing from Dallas. Duffy stars in Csaba Vékes’ film Rebound, and he will personally attend the film’s screening. The festival’s program includes numerous Hungarian and international films, with screenings scheduled for Friday, September 13th. As is customary, several international films will be featured in the festival’s competition lineup, including the Norwegian film Arctic Convoy, which will open CineFest with its grand war narrative. Director Henrik Martin Dahlsbakken and actor Jon Ranes will also be present at the screening.
Additionally, Alexandra Borbély will return to CineFest, meeting with the audience along with the crew of the Slovak film Emma and the Death’s-Head Hawk Moth* The festival will also showcase works such as Changing Wilderness – My North, directed by Zoltán Török, and Zsófia Szilágyi’s new film January 2nd.
This year, Turkey will be the featured guest country, offering viewers a glimpse into contemporary Turkish cinema. CineFest presents exciting opportunities not only for film enthusiasts but also for those who wish to meet their favorite creators and actors in person. Furthermore, the festival is preparing a variety of traditional accompanying programs, ensuring that fans of concerts and gastro-culture will also find engaging activities.
