According to national wage statistics, air traffic controllers have higher wages then representatives and ministers.
HungaroControl Zrt. is recruiting people to become air traffic controllers, their wages are 1.7 million Forints per month before taxes. There is an air traffic controller shortage in the United Kingdom and in Europe. The Hungarian HungaroControl Zrt is recruiting constantly; they are also going to music festivals to draw young people’s attention. New recruiting methods are important because only 10-15 people from 500 applicants are suitable for the job.
After air traffic controllers, representatives and ministers have the highest wages.
According to labor market experts, because of the shortage of labor, it is a tendency that more and more companies could offer highest paying jobs. “Shortage of labor is a general phenomenon in Hungary, it could occur in every field of jobs (e.g. doorman or chief executive)” – says András Sághy. Talented information technologists are very welcomed worldwide, which means that it is worth to work for foreign companies, since they are usually offering more money then the Hungarian ones. “Companies have to raise the bid; they are in a wage-spiral that can have negative effects in the future, for example multinational companies can easily outsource their workforce to their foreign sites.” – emphasized András Sághy.
