Hungary had a 566 million euro trade surplus in September, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a first reading of data.
The surplus was up 385 million euros from the same month a year earlier. Exports rose by an annual 10.9% to 9.582 billion euros. Imports were up by 6.5% at 9.016 billion euros.
Trade with other European Union member states accounted for about 80% of exports and 73% of imports. For the period January-September, exports were up by 4.5% annually at 81.818 billion euros and imports rose by 5.6% to 77.903 billion. The trade surplus for the period stood at 3.915 billion euros, narrowing by 569 million from the same period a year earlier. KSH will publish a second reading of the September data on December 2.
