The government has purchased medical equipment worth a combined 2 billion forints (EUR 5.5m) under the Healthy Budapest Programme, aimed at helping efforts to fight the coronavirus epidemic, Human Resources Minister Miklós Kásler told an online press conference.
Kásler said that the equipment, including mobile disinfecting robots, mobile x-rays, incubators, and hospital beds, have been distributed between 17 hospitals. Originally, the programme was launched in 2017 with the aim to modernise hospitals in the greater Budapest area, using a budget of 700 billion forints until 2026.
