Industrial output rose by an annual 16.5% in March from a low base after last year’s coronavirus-related lockdowns, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said.
In a first reading of data, KSH said output of the automotive segment jumped in March, and output of both the computer, electronics and optical equipment segment and food, drink and tobacco production grew below the average for the industrial sector as a whole. Adjusted for working day effects, output was up 16.2%. In a month-on-month comparison, output edged up a seasonally- and workday-adjusted 0.4%. For the period January-March, output increased by an annual 4.0%.
