In September, the average gross monthly earnings for full-time employees in Hungary reached 627,400 forints (approximately 1,477 euros), while the net average monthly earnings, considering benefits, amounted to 432,200 forints (approximately 1,017 euros), according to data released by the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday.
Compared to the same period last year, the gross average wage increased by 12.5%, the net average wage by 12.3%, and real wages by 9.2%. The median gross earnings stood at 519,500 forints (pproximately 1,229 euros), representing a 15.5% increase, while the median net earnings, including benefits, reached 359,100 forints (approximately 844 euros), a 15.4% year-on-year growth.
In September, the estimated regular gross average earnings (excluding bonuses, premiums, and one-month special allowances) were 605,100 forints, a 12.7% increase compared to the previous year.
Regular gross average earnings in the business sector were 606,100 forints, in the government sector 592,600 forints, and in the non-profit sector 629,100 forints, representing year-on-year increases of 12.2%, 14.2%, and 13.5%, respectively.
Net average earnings without benefits amounted to 417,200 forints, while net average earnings including benefits reached 432,200 forints, reflecting year-on-year increases of 12.5% and 12.3%, respectively.
Real wages increased by 9.2%, despite a 3.0% increase in consumer prices compared to the same period last year.
The median gross earnings were 519,500 forints, surpassing the previous year’s figure by 15.5%. The median net earnings, including benefits, reached 359,100 forints, exceeding the previous year’s figure by 15.4%.
From January to September, the gross average earnings for full-time employees amounted to 633,500 forints. Net average earnings without benefits reached 421,300 forints, while those including benefits amounted to 436,100 forints. Compared to the same period last year, both the gross average earnings and the net average earnings excluding benefits increased by 13.7%, while net average earnings including benefits increased by 13.5%, the KSH reported.
