Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó on Thursday delivered a batch of 100,000 Pfizer Covid-19 vaccines that Hungary is lending to the Czech Republic to Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis.

Answering a question from MTI at his joint press conference with Babis, Szijjártó said criticisms of Hungary’s decision to organise full-stadium Euro 2020 matches had been “politically motivated”. Szijjártó said the warnings that full-stadium matches could lead to a new wave of the pandemic had come from those whose countries had a low vaccination rate. The minister said he was convinced that both the Hungarian and international fans had enjoyed their time at the matches, adding that concerns over the safety of the matches had proven unfounded.
