Fully 4,521 people crossed into Hungary directly from Ukraine on Monday, while another 2,778 crossed from Romania, the National Police Headquarters (ORFK) said.
Police issued 30-day residency permits to 161 people, ORFK told MTI on Tuesday. Budapest received 36 people, 19 children among them, who travelled by train, ORFK said.
