In addition to the Stylish Countryside Gastronomy Association and the best restaurants in Debrecen, star chefs will also participate as guest exhibitors in the 8th Debrecziner Gourmet Festival, held in the Big Forrest from June 14 to 16.
Whether it’s fine dining, bistros, or food trucks, you can be sure that each dish will be prepared creatively and with a constant pursuit of innovation. Over the three-day event, visitors can expect mouth-watering bites, exciting textures, and unique ingredient pairings, along with fantastic desserts, craft beers, quality wines, and unconventional cocktails.
The Debrecziner Gourmet Award, established in 2018, will once again be presented this year, voted on by festivalgoers and awarded to the best exhibitor.
In 2024, the theme is the four classical elements: fire, water, air, and earth.
Each element can be interpreted through various motifs, colors, animals, or even seasonal changes, giving chefs immense creative freedom to present their culinary masterpieces in a unique way. The theme is open to interpretation, and there are no restrictions on ingredients—everything is left to the chefs’ creativity and imagination.
A Michelin star will shine too: On March 27, 2019, Babel Budapest was awarded its first Michelin star. The restaurant, which has operated since 2008 with some interruptions, continues to reinvent itself and look ahead. In November 2022, it received its Michelin star again.
