Humans May Live Up To 140 Years

Global

According to scientists at the Bar Ilan University in Israel, the average length of human life can reach 140 years in the future. The oldest person of the world so far was a 122 years old French woman who was born in 1875 and died in 1997. Last year, an American research team maximized human life in 115 years, but now the Israeli scientists say this 115 years can be prolonged even further by delaying the process of aging.

Hajim Kohen, professor at the Bar Ilan University in Israel, states in his research that humans may live up to 140 years in the future. “In the last 60 years the average life expectancy increased by 72 percent, but the maximum age of humans has risen only by 8 percent” – he says.

Kohen and his research group collected and analyzed data and researches of the past two decades and found that it is possible to delay the process of aging in the case of fungi, bacteria, mice, rats and even monkeys. Kohen argues that if the method of delaying aging process is extended to humans, human life expectancy may increase by 30 percent in the future.
