Thirteen Hungarian projects was financed by Google Digital News Initiative by 1,3 million Euros.
Google supported 461 projects from 29 different European countries by 94 million Euros. The goal of Google Digital News Initiative is to build a stronger future for journalism, elevate and strengthen quality journalism, evolve business models to drive sustainable growth and to empower news organizations through technological innovation.
In Hungary, the aim is to create a media ecosystem that increases critical thinking and objectivity both from news consumers and journalists. An application will be developed that notify the news reader of several alternative sources about the same piece of news so that he/she could read about the same news from different perspectives.
