Facebook Gave Access to User Data to 61 Firms

Now, Facebook has admitted that they had given access to their users’ data to 61 companies, despite the fact that earlier they had claimed that data sharing had stopped back in 2014.Facebook gave access to their users’ data to such companies as Apple, Amazon, Panasonic, Oracle, Nike, Spotify or USP, despite originally claiming that data sharing had stopped in 2014. Altogether, 61 firms were given extended access to user data.

Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive of Facebook has already accepted responsibility for the breach: “We didn’t take a broad enough view of our responsibility, and that was a big mistake. It was my mistake, and I’m sorry. I started Facebook, I run it, and I’m responsible for what happens here.”

About 87 million people were affected by the breach.
