The Hungarian government and the Unified Hungarian Jewish Congregation (EMIH) is providing 10 million forints (EUR 28,490) in humanitarian aid for persecuted Jews in Yemen caught up in the civil war there, the Prime Minister’s office said on Thursday.
The aid, with 5 million forints provided by the State Secretariat in charge of the Hungary Helps humanitarian programme and matched by EMIH, is aimed at helping the local Jewish community remain in their homeland and preserve their religious heritage, the PM’s office said in a statement.
