After a meeting of right-wing party leaders, Orbán told journalists that he had appealed to everyone attending the meeting to take a stand for a peaceful resolution and de-escalation. Orbán said Europe’s new security architecture was an important issue and “Europeans must be involved in some way”.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Orbán met French presidential candidate Marine Le Pen to discuss forging closer cooperation between the European conservative forces. The two politicians agreed that millions of European citizens who hold traditional Christian and national values have been left without proper political representation in the European Union. It would be essential, they added, for Europe’s right-wing parties to forge close cooperation.
On Friday, Orbán held talks with VOX party leader Santiago Abascal, focusing on protection for European Christian and conservative values, assistance for families and promotion of child birth, as well as efforts against illegal migration, according to information from his press office.
