The beaches of Los Angeles are always full with surprises. Today we had a heat wave on the coast, so it was a great idea to take a walk on Venice Beach.
As we were relaxing in the hot sand the a lady appeared next to us, who was very fit and she was about to going into the waves with her boogie board. Nothing unusual in this story yet, but the lady wasn’t in her 20s, not even her 30s and not even her 70s… She is actually 86 and has been surfing for 70 years – as she started at age 16. In the last decade, she changed to boogie board.
“It’s not even a surf – she said when I started to talk to her. ” It’s just a boogie board.” She laughed. It’s so much better to go into the ocean and lie on the waves than just lying in the sand!”

Maybe today we discovered something about the secret of the long life..
