In the United States, the national emergency declared in March 2020 due to the coronavirus epidemic has officially ended after President Joe Biden signed the relevant law.

According to the one-sentence announcement of the presidential office on Tuesday, the adoption of the legislation into law will end the emergency measures related to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The public health emergency will expire on May 11 in the United States.

Joe Biden disagreed with the congressional decision, but after the House of Representatives and the Senate passed it in March, he will not veto it.

The 435-member lower House of Congress voted on the Republican-majority legislation in February, which was rejected by nearly two hundred Democrats.

The national state of emergency gave the government powers that made it easier to take measures against the epidemic. In everyday life, however, the officially still active epidemiological emergency has had little effect in recent months.

The public health emergency declared in the United States on January 30, 2020, was announced by then-President Donald Trump, and then the national emergency was introduced in March 2020.

According to official data, the Covid-19 pandemic has killed more than 1.13 million people in the United States.
