The Great Library of the Reformed College of Debrecen will have more readers in near future. They starting new programmes and developments to serve and reach this goal.
Surveys shows that more than half of the Hungarian population does not read regularly and 80% of people not attending libraries. To attract more readers they starting a one and a half year long development program. They will update the Library`s website, and also planning writer-reader meetings and unconventional lectures.
Thousands of documents will be added to their database.
After the develpment the readers will be able to borrow books using the web services. They want to address particularly the young readers with these developments.
The library has more than 600.000 books. The oldiest examplars are from the 16th century.
