Hungary’s oldest continously operating jazz festival is nearly forty years old.
The audience had the chance to enjoy many prominent Hungarian and foreign
musicians on their legendary concerts.
Every year along with the international stars the famous Hungarian jazz musicians are able to show their talents performing on stage. The older scholars of the traditional jazz are leading the high quality field of performers also presenting younger representatives thosewho using many elements from variety of sources and new trends.
A rich spectrum of creativity, musicality and dynamismcharacterize jazzmusic in our days.
This year’s festival also promises excellent programmes. Regina Carter the world’sbest female violinist is arriving from the home of the jazz.
The recently repatriatedTommy Vig vibraphonist, percussionist spent nearly a half of a century on the other side of the ocean playing together with the most famous american musicians. He as the guest performer of the event will be on stage three times during the festival.
The Finnish Mikko Innanen’s Quartet represents the creative direction of the European jazz.
Elsa Valle the Cuban singer who lives in Hungary will bring the temperament of Latin jazz.
The audience will also see the young talents of the Hungarian jazz, such as Orsi Kozma singer, Dezso Olah the winner of the Junior Prima Prize, the Montreaux International Guitar Competition triumphant Roland Balogh, Lorinc Barabas the popular trumpet player of Budapest’s jazz clubs and many others.
