The representatives decided that Debrecen would need a 4.8 billion HUF loan.
The city wants to contract a euro-based loan, one that is freely convertible to HUF. The financial institutions can apply until 12 April. At the February general meeting held in connection with the budget Lajos Kósa said that in order to keep the budgetary balance the city will have to use a 4.8 billion HUF external source and will spend 5.4 billion HUF on debt-servicing, thereby reducing the amount of debt.
