Surveillance system improvement

Local News

Efforts are being made to improve public safety on the streets of Debrecen.

In 2010, the local government of Debrecen spent 10 million HUF on the development of the surveillance system. They installed 5 new cameras: 1 in Halköz, 2 in Romkert-Emlékkert, 2 in Csapó utca. (10 more cameras have been functioning in Piac Street for 10 years.)The monitors are continually being watched by the experts of the police who act immediately when necessary. The records are used in the legal proceedings initiated for committing a crime or infringement on the spot of the recording. The local government is planning to improve the surveillance system by purchasing mobilizable cameras which could be temporarily moved to places where public safety needs strengthening.
