Debrecen – the traditional Medikus Week (Week of the Medical Students)
held in early April started.
On 1-3 April, they organized the 39th Medic Cup in which both students and teachers participated. A couple of novelties have been introduced in this year`s program. In FanZone the participants had another community space to meet former classmates and former Medikus Cup players during the breaks.
Directly after the Cup competitions, concerts await the audience from Sunday afternoon till 7th of April. The medikus "pig-killing" and International Food Day are also integrated into the events. Sport programs and health screening are also available during the day and at night, stand-up comedy performances and concerts of Hungarian bands (including Republic, Mystery Gang, MC Hawer,Tekno and the Szeredás Band) provide entertainment for the audience.
Furthermore, sciencewill also be connected to the events with the XXX. OTDK for Medical Students which will be held at the University of Debrecen from April 7 to April 9. The Medical and Health sections will provide the best researchers from all over the country. These professionals are going to give lectures to present the result of their scientific researches.
A new initiative on the part of the DEOEC Student Center is the introduction of the daily admission fee. With every evening program the participants support the official partner of the Week. The money goes to the Children Leukemia Foundationof the University of Debrecen`s Child Hematology and Oncology Department.
