The 51-year old man got a 1 year suspended prison sentence.
The man who tried to blackmail policemen was convicted by the Debrecen Tribunal decided on Tuesday. On 2 January, the 51-years old man went out to the streets while he was drunk and started to vandalize, damaging the windows of a café, too. When the policemen arrived to the scene and asked him to identify himself he handed them 106.000 HUF and asked to be allowed to leave. At court, he was found guilty of blackmailing and was sentenced to one year suspended imprisonment. The court also ordered the confiscation of the 106.000 HUF mentioned above.
