Private collectors and the Polish faculty are organising an exhibition of special stamps.
All over the world, lots of people fancy collecting stamps, it’s safe to say that it is one of the most popular hobbies. The Americans are undoubtedly the most enthusiastic about it, the estimated number of those who spend most of their free time with stamps is 20 million.
In Hungary, people started collecting stamps in the 19th century, as the first independent stamps were issued in 1817. These days many clubs and associations are founded in order to make it possible for collectors to discuss their hobby.
Those who are interested in special stamps of foreign edition have the possibility to see a big collection of them in the University of Debrecen. On 2 May collections by the University and National Library of the University of Debrecen, the Polish Faculty and private collectors were exhibited and they can be seen until 6 May, in the lounge of the DEENK Arts and Science Library.
