Every 20th Debrecen company is in big trouble since the tax authority has already started implementation against them.
The National Tax and Customs Office wants to collect a total of 534 billion HUF by conducting tax execution procedure against around 120 thousand companies. The tax authority starts a procedure against a company if doesn’t pay its debt despite calls to do so or if the tax authority cannot freeze the money on the company’s bank account. In Hajdú-Bihar tax execution procedures are being conducted against 3161 companies out of which 1837 are in Debrecen which accounts for 10.4-13.2 % of all the companies in the city.
