An important objective of the Union is to reduce disparities between regions. This was one point for discussion at the meeting that began this Tuesday in Kölcsey Center.
Deputy Secretary of State Balázs Hidvéghi said that the government aims to improve industrial production. He didn’t mention any specific plans but stressed that industrialization may increase the strength of the Hungarian economy.
”The current financial and economic crisis teaches us and many other countries that without traditional industry it is very hard to survive such crises.” –Balázs Hidvéghi said.
The conference will end on Thursday. The participants plan to adopt a ”Debrecen declaration” at the end of the conference which gives information and advice to the governments of the member states in connection with the benefits and importance of the regional and economic cooperation .
