The Hungarian Knife Guild (“Magyar Kesmíves Céh”) is organizing its first exhibition on 9-10 July, in Batthyány Street. The members of the guild are going to present their wares at the exhibition.
In 2004, renowned Hungarian knife makers founded a professional organization in order to revive and preserve the conventional techniques of knife-making and the old knife-types, disseminate knowledge of handicrafts, organize exhibitions and reclaim the prestige of the ancient profession that has been marginalized by the industrial knife-making. Due to the collaboration and the continuous development of the members, the opinion about the Hungarian knife-makers has improved a lot lately, both at home and abroad. The numerous prizes and certificates won by the members at prestigious international exhibitions well evidence this fact.
