According to the decision of the Public Procurement Arbitration Committee, the construction of the new “minor boulevard” of Debrecen can start. One of the losers of the tender had appealed, but the committee refused it.
The first, 1 kilometer long section of the western minor boulevard will be constructed between Hatvan and Arany Janos Streets. The new boulevard will have 4 lanes, with parking lanes and sidewalks on both sides. There will be trees, public lighting and rainwater deflector system, too.
The local government has won 70 percent subsidy for the construction that will unburden the traffic of the Downtown.
The contract will be signed in 1-2 weeks; after this, the contractor can set out to the area and start the work, until the weather makes it possible.
Anyway, the mentioned section is the middle of the whole boulevard. In the second stage, they will construct the section between Hatvan and Mester Streets, and the last will be the section between Arany Janos and Erzsebet Streets.
